Sahar Tabar, born Fatemeh Khishvand, is a young Iranian actress who rose to international fame for her shocking transformation. Known online as the “Zombie Angelina Jolie,” she became notorious after sharing bizarre photos of herself, claiming to have undergone dozens of plastic surgeries to look like the Hollywood star. Her angular lips, pointed nose, and exaggerated cheekbones sparked controversy, though she later admitted many images were digitally altered and part of her self-expression.
Despite this, her appearance divided opinion and drew millions of followers on Instagram. Sahar described her work as a kind of art, saying: “Every time I publish a photo, I paint my face in an increasingly funny way. My fans know this is not my real face.”
But her online fame soon brought serious consequences. In 2019, Sahar was arrested and charged with violating Iran’s strict dress code, encouraging corruption, and negatively influencing youth. Sentenced to ten years, she was held in the notorious Qarchak Prison.
Following campaigns by activists, Sahar was released after 14 months. Her case remains a striking example of how social media fame can turn into tragedy under harsh restrictions.
