I never imagined that an ordinary day would change my life forever. What started as flu-like symptoms quickly spiraled into something far more dangerous. My skin began blistering, my lips swelled, and soon I was rushed to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed me with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS), a rare but life-threatening reaction often triggered by medications. Within hours, it progressed to Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN), leaving much of my skin raw and burned, as if I had been caught in a fire.
I was placed in intensive care, heavily sedated, and connected to tubes that kept me alive. Every breath, every heartbeat, was a battle. My family stood by helplessly as doctors fought to control the damage spreading across my body. My skin, eyes, mouth, and even internal organs were affected. Survival was uncertain.
But slowly, against all odds, I began to heal. The pain was unimaginable, yet the strength of my loved ones gave me courage. Scars remain—both visible and invisible—but they remind me of what I overcame.
Today, I proudly call myself a SJS/TEN Warrior. My journey is a testimony to resilience, and I now share my story to raise awareness and help others recognize this devastating condition early.
