Late one autumn night, five-year-old Mia was tucked into bed, her teddy bear at her side and a soft nightlight glowing in the corner. Minutes later, emergency services received a trembling call:
“Please come… there’s someone under my bed.”
The dispatcher, unsure if it was a child’s imagination, still sent officers.
When they arrived, Mia’s parents assured them she was prone to vivid stories. Yet Mia’s wide, fearful eyes told a different tale. Clutching her teddy bear, she silently led the officers to her room.
One officer crouched down, finding only toys and dust. But the second noticed something odd—the blanket on the far side of the bed looked as though it had been tugged.
Then the house fell into an uncanny silence. The curtains shifted, not from a draft, but as if someone had just hidden there. A thorough search revealed no intruder, no signs of entry.
Mia refused to sleep in that room for weeks. To this day, no one knows if it was fear, imagination, or something that slipped away before being caught.
What do you think?
