ST. LOUIS — A 17-year-old from St. Louis is now on life support after what was supposed to be a lifesaving surgery. Landon Daesch underwent a heart transplant Tuesday night at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Initially, his new heart beat steadily at 70 beats per minute, giving his family and supporters hope.

“All praise and glory to Jesus, the Giver of Life!” his mother, Krista Mercille, wrote online. But within hours, she shared a heartbreaking update: the new heart wasn’t functioning properly, and Landon remained on life support.

For months, the family prayed for healing in Landon’s heart, but doctors determined a transplant was unavoidable. Less than two days after being added to the list, a donor heart became available. Now, instead of celebrating, his family and friends are facing fear and uncertainty.
Supporters have rallied online, creating a wave of prayer and encouragement. Krista admitted, “My momma heart is shattered. I am not okay, but I’m still trusting the Lord.”
Despite his fragile condition, Landon’s faith and resilience have already inspired thousands across the nation, turning his fight into a movement of hope.
