John Cena, 47, has revealed he was diagnosed with skin cancer.
The WWE legend, who rose to fame in 2002 with his
“Doctor of Thuganomics” persona, shared that neglecting sun
protection in his youth led to a cancerous spot being removed from his right pec.
“It wasn’t until I went to a dermatologist and got a skin checkup and
had a cancerous spot removed,” he said. Cena admitted, “I was stubborn… I thought the problem would never reach me.”
Fans have praised his honesty, calling him “brave” for raising awareness.
The Fast & Furious 9 and Suicide Squadstar is now fronting Neutrogena’s “Sunscreen You Can’t See” campaign, inspired by his WWE catchphrase.
“That phone call’s not what you want to get,” Cena said. “A year later, I had another spot removed near my shoulder.”
Grateful for early detection, he now urges everyone to wear sunscreen daily, saying it’s as essential as brushing your teeth.
