Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk accepted the inaugural Charlie Kirk Legacy Award at the 2025 Fox Nation Patriot Awards.
In a somber moment, she reflected on her late husband and his enduring vision for the nation

At the Fox Nation Patriot Awards in Brookville, New York, Erika Kirk accepted the inaugural Charlie Kirk Legacy Award, created to honor individuals who uphold the late activist’s core values of faith, family, and freedom of speech. Fighting back tears, she shared one of her husband’s favorite sayings: “It’s not how I’m saying it that’s upsetting people. It’s the fact that I’m saying the truth that’s upsetting people.”
Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was tragically assassinated on September 10 at Utah Valley University. He was just 31 and is survived by his wife and two young children.
Following his death, Erika has continued his mission, speaking to students nationwide and declaring, “Evil wins when good people stay silent.” She vowed to keep speaking the truth “no matter the cost.”
Fox News host Jesse Watters and country stars Jason and Brittany Aldean presented the award, which will become a permanent part of the Patriot Awards. Turning Point USA later announced Erika as its new CEO and Chair of the Board, calling her leadership a continuation of Charlie’s enduring legacy.
