Hey everyone, I had to share this because my friends swear I’m making it up! Parenting today feels so different compared to what moms and dads dealt with years ago. We talk about convenience now, but back then? Laundry alone was a full workout.
My mom—and probably many others from her generation—had a diaper routine that sounds unbelievable today. She would take the dirty cloth diapers, rinse them in the toilet (yes, the actual toilet!), squeeze out the water, and then toss them into the diaper pail until wash day. I know it sounds wild, but this was completely normal back then. No disposable diapers, no fancy gadgets—just grit, patience, and a whole lot of determination.
It really makes you appreciate how resourceful parents used to be. They didn’t have shortcuts, but they made everything work with whatever they had.
So now I need to know—did your mom or grandma do this too? Please tell me I’m not the only one who remembers this!
