Breakfast at the Restaurant
We went out for breakfast at a local spot. The Seniors Special included two eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast for just $1.99.
The Egg Dilemma
“That sounds good,” my wife said, “but I don’t want the eggs.”
The waitress quickly replied, “If you leave out the eggs, it’ll be $2.49 since that’s considered à la carte.”
A Surprising Response
My wife, surprised, asked, “So I’d pay more for not taking the eggs?”
“YES!” the waitress confirmed.
Problem Solved
“I’ll take the special,” my wife decided. When asked how she wanted her eggs, she coolly responded, “Raw and in the shell.”
She took the eggs home with her.
