The Floor That Feels Like It’s Moving, Mysterious sensation of rising floor; seeking others’ experiences and explanations. The Floor That Feels Like It’s Moving,

I moved into my apartment two months ago, and there’s a bizarre sensation that’s been driving me nuts. Whenever I stand still for a few minutes—usually while reading something on my phone—I feel like the floor directly under my feet starts rising. It’s as if there’s someone underneath pushing the floor up, creating a dome-like feeling beneath me. To figure out if it was just me, I had some friends stand still to see if they felt it too.

Four of them reported feeling the same strange sensation, while two did not. The apartment has wooden planks throughout—hallway, living room, two bedrooms, and even the kitchen—while the bathroom has a lino floor. There’s no cellar beneath, and the area is quiet with no heavy traffic nearby. The nearest train station is a 15-minute walk away. There’s really no explanation for why this is happening. It would make sense if it only occurred in one room, potentially due to poorly fitted wood planks, but it happens in all rooms, including the bathroom with its lino floor.

I’m sharing this experience to see if anyone else has had a similar issue or if you have any ideas about what could be causing this weird phenomenon. Your thoughts and insights would be greatly appreciated as I try to make sense of this unsettling experience.
