Why Do A-listers Reportedly Avoid Taking Pics With Meghan Markle?
Meghan Markle attended a business event and chatted with other Hollywood personalities. However, images from the event show her posing with her pals rather than other celebs, and there appears to be a reason for this.
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, attended the star-studded business summit held in the Hamptons on July 26, 2024.
According to reports, she and entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima came via private jet after flying in from Santa Barbara, California. She was allegedly there to gather feedback for her next project.
Markle’s appearance at the business event coincides with the announcement of her intentions to establish her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. An source revealed that it “will reflect everything she loves – family, cooking, entertaining, and home decor.”
Aside from her objectives, the royal’s longtime friend and beauty maven, Bobbi Brown, attended and described her experience at the G9 Ventures Summer gathering, a one-day business gathering sponsored by power broker Amy Griffin.
The yearly gathering takes place on Griffin’s massive estate valued more than $13 million. She lives with her husband, millionaire John Griffin, who was also in attendance.
Other well-known public people who attended were Reese Witherspoon (owner of Hello Sunshine), Gwyneth Paltrow (creator of Goop), Mariska Hargitay, Diane Sawyer, Naomi Watts, Katie Couric, and actor Laura Dern.
Markle’s other close friend and fashion designer, Misha Nonoo, also attended the conference. Brown uploaded a series of photos from the event, which show the three women standing together while wearing sunglasses.
The queen was spotted laughing beside her friends in a beige suit consisting of a St. Agni linen helm vest and overlap waist pants. She wore jewels from Cartier and Ariel Gordon.
While Markle took selfies with the two women, it was clear that they were the only ones she posed with. A source explained why several well-known women at the event chose to avoid taking photographs with the Duchess.
“They understand that if they appear in a photo with (Meghan), it is tacit acceptance of her, which she may exploit to promote herself. Meghan can attend their functions and move into their area (Paltrow has a home near Markle and Harry in Montecito), but they are not pals, according to the insider.
Some A-List Hollywood icons apparently do not want to be seen supporting Markle and her husband Prince Harry during their feud with the Royal Family. Even music singer Taylor Swift has distanced herself from the Duchess of times.
Despite being ignored by some of her co-stars, Markle’s non-celebrity pals continue to support her. She has a long history with Brown and Nonoo. The queen previously partnered with the makeup artist on various beauty-related social media postings.
Markle has previously worn Nonoo’s designs. The British-Bahraini native even attended the Duchess of Sussex’ wedding in 2018.
Nonoo remembers the encounter, saying that they sat next to one other at lunch and got along “like a house on fire.” She also raved over the Duchess, expressing adoration for her.
“She has the most amazing and generous spirit. “I aspire to be as philanthropic as she is and to make as much of an impact as she does,” Nonoo added.
