She was heavily using prescription pills, smoking cigarettes, drinking, and was a big fan of cocaine. The doctors told her there was a good chance the baby would be deformed. She decided to have an abortion but wanted to quit her habits first to give the baby a chance.
Just a few days later, during the ultrasound before the scheduled abortion, she saw the baby’s steady pulse. Feeling the heartbeat of the tiny life inside her, she ran out of the room and never returned. Six months later, I was born healthy, much to her relief.
