An elderly lady walked into her bank and approached the teller with a simple request: she wanted to withdraw $10 from her account. However, the teller informed her that for withdrawals under $100, the ATM should be used. Annoyed, the teller handed back her card, insisting that this was the bank’s rule and urged her to leave if she had no further requests. The old lady, taken aback, paused momentarily before handing her card back to the teller with a new request.

The elderly woman politely asked the teller to withdraw all the money from her account. The teller, curious, checked her balance and was shocked to find that the lady had $300,000 in her account. Startled, she leaned in and, with newfound respect, explained that the bank didn’t have that much cash on hand at the moment, suggesting the woman return the next day for a large withdrawal. The old lady calmly asked how much she could withdraw immediately, to which the teller replied, “$3000.”

With a clever smile, the old lady requested $3000. The teller, now treating her with a friendly demeanor, handed over the cash. The old lady placed $10 into her purse and then instructed the teller to deposit the remaining $2990 back into her account. The lesson here is simple: never underestimate the wisdom and patience of older people, for they have spent a lifetime honing their skills in handling such situations.
