A Warning from the Future.

A Warning from the Future, When a message from her past self arrives just in time, Mia must choose between a night of reckless abandon and a path toward self-discovery and control.

The morning sun filtered through the curtains of my small apartment, casting a warm glow across the cluttered desk where I sat, sipping my coffee. The familiar hum of my phone broke the silence, and I glanced down to see a message notification from an unknown number. Curiosity piqued, I opened it, expecting a spam message or a wrong number. Instead, my heart raced as I read the words:“Mia, this is you. I know it sounds crazy, but you need to listen. Please don’t ignore this.”I blinked, my mind racing. How could this be? I glanced at the timestamp—last night at 11:47 PM. It felt surreal, but the message continued:“You’re about to make a choice that will change everything. If you go to that party tonight, you’ll regret it. Trust me. I know.”My stomach twisted. Tonight was the night of the big party at Jake’s place, the one everyone had been buzzing about for weeks. It was supposed to be a celebration of my recent promotion at the marketing firm, a chance to let loose and have fun. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized how reckless it could be. I had been feeling the pressure of my new role, and a night of indulgence could easily spiral out of control.“You’ll meet someone there. Someone who will charm you, but they’re not who they seem. You’ll make decisions you can’t take back. Please, don’t go.”

My hands trembled as I read the message again. Was this really me? Was I truly capable of such poor judgment? I thought of my past mistakes—how I had let my guard down with the wrong people, how I had lost friends over impulsive decisions.Taking a deep breath, I set my coffee down and stared at my reflection in the window. Maybe this was a sign—a chance to break the cycle. With newfound resolve, I typed a reply to the unknown number, my fingers flying across the screen:“Thank you. I won’t go.”

As I hit send, a wave of relief washed over me, and for the first time in a long while, I felt like I was finally in control of my own destiny. I decided to spend the evening doing something meaningful—calling my best friend, Sarah, and planning a quiet night in. After all, sometimes the best parties are the ones we create ourselves.
