Grateful’ For Their Decision, The Family’s Neighbors Turned Down A Shocking Offer From Developers

A family’s neighbors, who are “grateful” that they turned down a stunning offer from property developers, expressed their gratitude for their choice.

The 20,000 square meter site has been owned by the Zammit family for many years.

In addition to a triple garage and a 200-meter driveway, their property offers breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains.

Although they haven’t revealed much about the offers they’ve gotten, Diane Zammit revealed to Daily Mail Australia that each house in the neighborhood used to be “unique.”

“It used to be farmland dotted with little red brick homes and cottages,” she said last year.

“Every home was unique, and there was so much space—but not anymore.”

According to house records on RP Data, the house was previously for sale in 2015, when it was valued between AUD $858,000 (£438,445) and AUD $945,000 (£482,270).

Additionally, according to Daily Mail Australia, the house was only listed for sale for seven days before being put up for sale again the following year at the same price.

The Zammit home hasn’t been on the market since developers expressed interest in purchasing their house and the surrounding land so they could rebuild on the plot.

The entire site could hold up to 50 properties, each of which might fetch a price tag of approximately $1 million, therefore, it’s thought that they have been offered such an enormous sum. This is according to 7 News.

The family has remained true to their choice in spite of the offers, and their neighbors are “appreciative” of this.

One nearby resident said: “I’m very happy they’ve refused to sell – it means we have a cul-de-sac which is much safer for our kids – and their big lawn next to us makes it feel like we’ve got so much space.”

“Our neighbours don’t get that because the other houses are so close together.”

“We’re very grateful. I hope they stay.”

It was rumored that the original offer was up to AUD $50 million (£25 million) for the sale of their Sydney home.

Meanwhile, local real estate agent Taylor Bredin told 7News: “The fact that most people sold out years and years ago, these guys have held on. All credit to them.”

“Depending on how far you push the development plan, you’d be able to push anywhere from 40 to 50 properties on something like this, and when subdivided, a 300 square-meter block would get a million dollars.”
