When I made my baseball debut for the USA, I thought it was the start of something big. But reality hit me hard—twice. In my first game, I struck out both at-bats. No hits, no glory. I was devastated when they dropped me from the team. But instead of quitting, I threw myself into training. I spent hours in the batting cages, playing in minor leagues, waiting for that phone call. It took twenty-one long months, but I finally got a second shot. I was sure this was my time. But once again, I struggled—just one hit in two games. Cut again. Back to the grind.

I was frustrated but determined. Three more years of lower leagues, hard work, and endless practice. Still waiting for that break. And then, when I got another chance, I didn’t hit a single ball. It was heartbreaking, but I didn’t stop. I kept pushing forward. Those six years of failure tested me, but deep down, I knew I had more to give. I thought about switching paths, maybe even giving up baseball entirely, but something in me wouldn’t let go of the dream.

Finally, my moment came. I hit that ball out of the park—a home run. That one hit changed everything. From there, I found my stride, and my career took off. I went on to hit over 200 home runs, and even had the honor of captaining my team. Looking back now, I’m so glad I didn’t quit when things got tough. I learned that if you stay the course, keep believing in yourself, and refuse to give up, the success you’re chasing will eventually come. I’m living proof of that.
