Growing up, I was always the top student, even if I wasn’t the most popular. Everyone knew me as the girl with great grades and big dreams. After high school, I thought the only way to achieve success was to attend a prestigious university and graduate at the top of my class. My plan was clear: straight A’s, graduate early, get a good job, and live the dream. But reality was very different.
In college, things didn’t go as planned. I failed courses, lost my scholarship, and fell behind my friends who were graduating on time. They were starting their careers, traveling, and enjoying life while I was still trying to catch up. I realized I was chasing the wrong kind of success—focused on being better than others rather than growing as a person. I regretted not my choice of college, but the pressure I put on myself to be perfect.
Today, I’ve set new goals. Instead of focusing on grades or competition, I aim to start each day with a positive mindset. I don’t give up on any subject, no matter how tough, because every lesson is valuable. I’ll finish my degree on my own timeline, without comparing myself to others. What’s important is that I keep moving forward. I’ve learned that true success is not measured by external achievements, but by how you grow and embrace each new challenge.
