I lost my iPhone on June 20th, and after countless calls went unanswered, I feared it was gone for good. With only 10% battery left, my hopes faded, especially knowing that my phone held irreplaceable memories—photos and videos of my firstborn baby. The thought of losing those precious moments was heartbreaking. I still clung to hope, though, so on June 22nd, I checked in with Kroger, where I last had it. I figured it was wishful thinking—who would return an iPhone? But something inside urged me to try.
To my surprise, they had a few phones in their lost and found! After work, I rushed there, not expecting much, but there it was! My phone, safe and sound. The gentleman who found it, George, had turned it in and kept it safe for me. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude that I offered him a reward, but he refused. He said a simple thank you was all he needed. I was blown away by his kindness and knew I had to do something to show my appreciation.
I called Kroger corporate to let them know they had an amazing employee in George, and I truly hope he gets the recognition he deserves. His good deed restored my faith in people. After past experiences of having things stolen right in front of me, it was hard to remain optimistic. But George, with his pure heart, reminded me that there are still good people in this world.
