The Weight of Words.

The Weight of Words. After discovering that everything she types comes true, a young woman learns to navigate the power of her gift, realizing that words can shape not only reality but also her own identity.

When I first discovered my peculiar gift, I thought it was a fluke. It started innocently enough—a casual entry in my journal about wanting to find a lost bracelet. The next morning, I found it lying on my bedside table, where I could have sworn I hadn’t left it. Intrigued, I decided to test the limits of my newfound ability.Over the next few days, I began typing with purpose. I wrote about trivial things: a sunny day, a surprise visit from an old friend, and even a delicious dinner at my favorite restaurant. Each time, my words materialized into reality. It was exhilarating and terrifying all at once. But as the novelty wore off, I realized the potential consequences of my power. What if I wrote something reckless? What if I accidentally caused harm? I hesitated to share my secret with anyone, fearing they might exploit it or think I was losing my mind.

One evening, in a moment of frustration after a long day at work, I typed: “I wish my boss would quit.” The next day, I received an email announcing that my boss had resigned. A mix of guilt and relief washed over me. Was it really that easy? Could I manipulate my life with mere words? As days turned into weeks, my writing became more ambitious. I crafted elaborate scenarios—wealth, fame, love—but each time I manifested something significant, unintended consequences followed. A new job came with demanding hours and toxic coworkers; a whirlwind romance ended in heartbreak when jealousy brewed from my partner’s insecurities. The weight of my power began to feel like a curse. One night, in a fit of anger after an argument with a friend, I typed: “I wish everyone would just leave me alone.” The next morning, I woke up to silence; friends had distanced themselves, and family members were nowhere to be found.Realizing the gravity of my words, I understood that every sentence carried immense power. From that moment on, I decided to use my gift wisely. Instead of crafting selfish desires or fleeting whims, I began writing affirmations and positive intentions—hoping to create a life filled with love and connection rather than isolation and regret.

With each keystroke, I learned that words could shape not just reality but also the essence of who I wanted to be. And in that realization lay the true magic of my gift.
