A Blast from the Past.

A Blast from the Past, Noah asks his old crush, Lily, out, only to find she doesn’t remember him at all.

Noah stood outside the bustling park, his heart racing as he rehearsed the words in his head. After years of unspoken feelings, he had finally decided to ask out his old crush, Lily. They had shared a brief but memorable connection in high school, filled with stolen glances and awkward conversations. Now, years later, they had crossed paths again in their hometown, and Noah felt a surge of hope. Perhaps this was his chance to rekindle something special. As he walked along the winding path, he spotted Lily sitting on a bench, engrossed in a book. She looked just as beautiful as he remembered, with her long hair cascading over her shoulders and a warm smile that lit up her face when she noticed him. Gathering his courage, Noah approached her.“Lily?” he said, trying to sound casual. She looked up, her expression shifting from curiosity to confusion. “Yes? Can I help you?”“It’s me, Noah! We went to high school together,” he replied, his heart sinking slightly at her blank stare.

“Noah? Oh… right,” she said slowly, as if trying to place him. “I’m sorry, but I don’t really remember you.”The words hit him like a punch to the gut. He forced a smile, trying to mask his disappointment. “No worries! It was a long time ago.”Lily’s gaze shifted back to her book, and Noah felt the weight of the moment settle heavily on his shoulders. He had built up this fantasy in his mind—imagining how they could reconnect and perhaps even start something new. But here she was, a stranger in his eyes.“Would you like to grab dinner sometime?” he blurted out, hoping to salvage the situation.Lily hesitated before replying, “I’m really busy right now, but thanks for asking!”

Noah nodded and turned away, feeling deflated. As he walked through the park, he realized that sometimes memories are not shared equally. While he had cherished their past connection, it seemed that for Lily, it was simply a fleeting moment lost in time.
