Last weekend, my daughter Lily turned 8, marking her first birthday since the tragic death of her father. And indeed, every single child RSVP’d to Chloe’s event, leaving Lily heartbroken and disappointed. But karma quickly caught up with Chloe’s family. While Lily and I were enjoying a quiet, intimate day, Chloe’s party turned into a disaster. The animators were late, the cake collapsed, and the expensive gifts were a flop.
