And he was happy because he was saving up for his grandma’s present. It took him two whole days. But I noticed Ethan seemed down. I asked him what was wrong, and he said quietly, “She hasn’t paid me yet. She said… she said I SHOULD GET LOST. She said… she said that the lesson I learned from mowing her lawn should be enough. That learning to be hardworking is the payment. She said I should be grateful.” That was it. That was the moment my blood boiled over.
