A tragic accident occurred on Highway 211 near Molalla, Oregon, on March 1, 2019, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. The incident took place around 4:30 PM when 75-year-old Maurice Deets, driving northbound, crossed into the southbound lane for reasons yet to be determined. His Subaru Legacy collided with a southbound Dodge 2500 pickup truck driven by 48-year-old Beverly Parker from Woodburn.Matthew Deets, a 49-year-old passenger in the Subaru, was pronounced dead at the scene by Oregon State Police (OSP).
Maurice Deets sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a Portland hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Parker suffered minor injuries but declined hospitalization.The crash led to the closure of Highway 211 for approximately five and a half hours as authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the wreckage.
