This couple converted a school bus into a very nice and comfy motorhome for a year

Sam and Rachel Dix from Bristol embarked on a remarkable adventure by converting an American school bus into a luxurious mobile home. The 37-foot bus, originally used to transport 72 children, became their unique home on wheels after being shipped from New York to the UK. The couple’s journey was driven by a desire for freedom and a tribute to Rachel’s late father, who passed away from cancer. The conversion took over six months, with Rachel overseeing the interior design and Sam, a carpenter, handling much of the work himself. They installed wooden floors, a practical kitchen, a cozy bedroom, and a stylish bathroom, and even added solar panels to reduce energy costs. The bus became even more significant when Rachel gave birth to their son, Bodhi, in the living room while parked on an organic farm.
Now, the Dix family is upgrading to a new vehicle for future adventures and has put the bus up for sale. Their story highlights the joy of sustainable, nomadic living and the power of creativity in making dreams come true.
