The couple first met in 1964 in Nashville, and Carl recalls their initial encounter fondly: “I had an intuition that this was the woman I was destined to wed.” Although Dolly initially turned down his advances, she later invited him into her life, and they were married in a small ceremony in Georgia in 1966.
