Kimberley Baggley, 27: Diagnosed With Brain Cancer Speaks Out About a Common Symptom Most People Don’t Pay Attention to.

Kimberley Baggley, a 27-year-old teacher from Stoke-on-Trent, experienced a persistent week-long headache in June 2023, initially dismissed as a migraine. However, an unusual tingling sensation on her face prompted further medical attention, though doctors only prescribed painkillers. Despite multiple visits to A&E, her condition worsened until she suffered a seizure, leading to a CT scan that revealed a malignant brain tumor—a grade 3 astrocytoma.
Urgent surgery removed 95% of the tumor, followed by a difficult recovery involving infections, a second surgery, and delays in cancer treatment. Kimberley underwent 33 rounds of radiotherapy and 10 chemotherapy sessions, enduring numerous setbacks but remaining determined.
Her diagnosis deeply impacted her family, especially her husband Luke, who became her primary caregiver. Kimberley’s son, George, also struggled with the fear of losing his mother.
Determined to help others, Kimberley raised funds for brain tumor research and supports other patients. Her advocacy underscores the need for earlier diagnosis, better treatment options, and greater awareness of brain tumors. Her journey continues to inspire hope for those facing similar battles.
