A 39-year-old man named Groeschen lost his sight after developing a severe eye infection. The cause was traced back to a common mistake: wearing contact lenses overnight. This allowed a bacteria called Pseudomonas to incubate under the lenses, leading to an infection that eroded his cornea. Despite treatment, the damage was so severe that the only solution was a cornea transplant, with a lengthy recovery period of about one year.
