Dreamcatchers for Abused Children, a non-profit focused on helping abused children, recently shared a heartfelt wish list written by a foster child in Oklahoma. The boy, who had endured severe abuse from his alcoholic parents, was finally rescued after a concerned neighbor alerted authorities. Once placed in the care of Dreamcatchers, he was soon matched with a loving family.
When the boy learned he had found a forever home, he created a list of things he hoped for in his new life. His simple yet profound wishes included:
- A Warm Bed – A safe, comfortable place to sleep.
- Love and Care – A family that would support and protect him.
- A Pet – A dog or cat for companionship.
- Toys and Games – The chance to experience joy through play.
- School Supplies – Tools to help him succeed academically.
- A Birthday Party – A celebration he had never had.
This list serves as a reminder of the emotional needs of children in foster care, and the transformative power of love and support.
