In a 2024 interview, Gere opened up about his decision to move to Madrid with his family. He explained that part of the reason is his Spanish wife’s desire to live in her home country. He remarked, “She was very generous to give me six years living in my world, so I think it’s only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers.”
