Death is a difficult thing to face, and the loss of a loved one can leave us grieving for months or even years. However, sometimes humor can be found even in the most serious topics.
Every week, a young widow would visit her husband’s grave to water the flowers. Each time, she would leave without turning around, her back facing the tomb as she walked away. A young man who saw this ritual was curious and decided to approach her one day.
“You’ve shown your late husband a great deal of respect,” he said, admiring her actions. “I think it’s really lovely that you don’t turn around when you leave.”
The widow looked directly at him and replied, leaving the man stunned: “I don’t turn around because it’s not him I’m running away from, it’s the guy I’m seeing now!”
The twist in her response was enough to leave the man dumbfounded, and it’s easy to see why humor can sometimes be found in even the most unexpected places.
