Nurse’s Morning Surprise: 15 Kittens Abandoned in a Suitcase
On her way to work, a nurse in Essex, England, discovered a suitcase on the sidewalk. Curious, she opened it to find 15 kittens, just 3 to 5 weeks old, hidden inside. The suitcase had air holes, indicating that whoever left them wanted the kittens to survive. It was also placed near an animal shelter.
The nurse contacted shelter worker Alison Gamble, who found the kittens in decent health but noted they were separated from their mother too soon. Staff are now providing round-the-clock care for the vulnerable kittens until they’re old enough to be adopted.
This act of abandonment, though troubling, has given the kittens a chance at a better future, thanks to compassionate people stepping in to help.
