Joy Behar, a household name thanks to her long tenure on The View, recently celebrated her 84th birthday. While many know her as a media personality, Behar is also a wife, mother, and grandmother. After nearly 30 years of dating, she married Steve Janowitz, a retired schoolteacher, in August 2011.
Their relationship has its quirks, particularly around driving. Behar revealed that most of their arguments stem from Steve criticizing her driving, which has made her a nervous driver. She humorously recounted an incident where her car rolled into a farm stand, leaving her too embarrassed to return to the scene.
Traveling together also highlights their differences. After a 10-day trip to Italy, Behar joked that the close quarters left her craving space. She even suggested taking separate cars to lunch afterward, which led to a tense meal.
Despite these quirks, Behar attributes their relationship’s longevity to their shared sense of humor and ability not to take things personally. “It’s about not being overly sensitive,” she explained.
Now, 12 years into their marriage, the couple continues to navigate life with laughter and mutual respect.
