The ship, carrying over 5,000 passengers and crew, was near Tenerife, Canary Islands, when winds surged from 46 mph to 86 mph. This caused chaos on board, with drinks flying off tables, broken glass, and scattered clothing racks. Passengers struggled to maintain balance as the ship swayed, and one person was injured, requiring medical attention in Las Palmas, Spain. The ship was diverted to provide care and continued its journey to Miami.
