There are certain questions that come up in relationships, especially as they grow deeper. Some are serious, like what someone would do if their partner passed away, while others might be a bit more personal and uncomfortable.
One question that tends to arise early in relationships is about past partners. It’s not always easy to ask or answer, but it’s common. A man and a woman in the following story found themselves in this situation, though it took an unexpected turn.
A newlywed couple lay in bed, and the husband curiously asked his wife how many men she had been with. She didn’t respond, staring at the ceiling in silence. He asked again, pressing the matter, “Just share it with me, it’s okay. How many men have you been with?” Still no answer, just silence from the wife.
The husband apologized, realizing he might have upset her. “I didn’t mean to upset you, I just thought we could have an open relationship…” He tried to comfort her, but she remained silent. Feeling defeated, he conceded, “That’s alright, please don’t be upset.”
He then began to hold her, showering her with hugs and kisses. After a while, the wife snapped out of her silence, turned to him with a frustrated look, and said, “Oh, come on! You’ve made me lose count!”
