Legendary actor Robert Blake has passed away at the age of 89. His niece, Noreen Austin, confirmed the news, stating that Blake died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, after struggling with ongoing cardiac issues.
Blake’s Hollywood career spanned decades, beginning as a child actor in the 1939 film Bridal Suite. With nearly 150 acting credits, he is best remembered for his roles in In Cold Blood and the television series Baretta, for which he won an Emmy. His final dramatic performance was in the 1997 film Lost Highway.
Despite his remarkable career, Blake’s later life was marred by controversy. In 2001, his second wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley, was murdered, and Blake was accused of her death. Although he was acquitted in 2005, the trial cast a shadow over his legacy.
Blake spent his final years enjoying old films, playing guitar, and listening to jazz, cherishing moments with his family.
His death marks the end of an era, with fans mourning both his talent and the complexities of his life.
