Eve, a young black bear, was found in a trash bin, fur-less and suffering from severe skin problems due to parasites. She urgently needed help to recover and regain her strength, facing a challenging road to recovery.
Animals Wildlife Center
After her rescue, Eve was taken to the Fund for Animals Wildlife Center, where a dedicated team of caregivers and veterinarians worked tirelessly to improve her health. The focus was on treating her skin infections and promoting her recovery through regular treatments and a balanced diet. Though Eve’s health gradually improved, her fur remained thin, and she struggled with skin sensitivity.
The Long-Term Challenges
Eve’s journey to recovery continued slowly. By July of the following year, her skin condition had nearly healed, but she still dealt with daily irritations. The question arose: Could she return to the wild? As her fur grew back, it became clear that Eve would need permanent care. Without a fully restored coat, she couldn’t survive the harsh elements of the wild. After careful consideration, Eve was permanently cared for at the center, where she now thrives safely.
