The devastating floods in Valencia, Spain, which began on October 29, have claimed over 220 lives, with efforts to rebuild ongoing. Among the victims were two young brothers, Rubén and Izan Matías Calatayud, aged 3 and 5, who were swept away by the floodwaters in their home in Torrent. As their father tried to protect them during the disaster, the overwhelming force of the flood tore the boys from his grasp. Despite surviving the ordeal, the father was severely injured. After two weeks of searching, the boys’ bodies were found six miles downstream, at separate locations, leaving their family heartbroken.
