On November 3, 2020, I was unexpectedly attacked by my cousin’s pit bull. I had met the dog many times before; he was fully trained and had never shown aggression. This made the incident shocking and traumatic. At the time, I was visiting my cousins in Arizona from California.Interestingly, just fifteen minutes before the attack, I had a conversation with a girl at a nutrition shop who told me, “Whatever you go through, you’re going to remain positive.” I appreciated her words but had no idea how relevant they would soon become. After leaving the shop, I went to my cousin’s apartment for lunch, feeling insecure about a small blemish on my lip. Minutes later, that insecurity paled in comparison to the reality of my attack. The experience forced me to reevaluate my perspective on life and what truly matters. While the physical scars remain, I’ve learned to be grateful for my health and the support of those around me. The attack changed my life forever, but it also taught me valuable lessons about resilience and appreciation.
