A Summit Air plane, identified as 9N-AMH, crashed at Lukla Airport in Nepal, colliding with a stationary helicopter. The incident occurred shortly after takeoff when the small twin-engine L-410 Turbolet lost control and veered off the runway. CCTV footage of the crash has been submitted to local authorities for investigation.Reports indicate that the pilot survived the crash, but tragically, the co-pilot and two individuals on the ground did not. The airport director expressed concern for the well-being of those affected by this unfortunate event.

Lukla Airport is notorious for its challenging conditions, located at an elevation of 9,334 feet in a mountainous region. The airport’s short runway of only 527 meters, combined with frequent rain, fog, and high winds, makes takeoffs and landings particularly perilous. Despite its reputation as one of the worldās most dangerous airports, it remains a vital access point for trekkers heading to Mount Everest, with thousands passing through each year.
