A father, Tim Smith, who learned to walk and talk again after being crushed between a bobcat and a 30-ton excavator, credits his baby daughter for sparking his miraculous recovery. The accident occurred while he was clearing his property near Toowoomba, Queensland, in preparation for his wedding to fiancée Kym Smith. As the bobcat got stuck in mud, a group attempted to free it using the excavator, but Tim, then 30, became trapped between the two machines.

Tim nearly died during transport to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he remained in a coma for weeks due to catastrophic injuries. Doctors informed Kym that he might either die or survive in a vegetative state. However, after a grueling two-year recovery process, the couple finally celebrated their wedding surrounded by family and friends in February.âOur first priority now is the well-being of the injured persons and family members of those affected by this unfortunate accident,â said the airportâs director during an interview. Tim’s story is one of resilience and hope against overwhelming odds.
