A father and daughter, along with their friend, were killed in a tragic accident when a wrong-way driver crashed into their car on Long Island. The victims, Ruben Sanchez-Flores, 67, and his daughter Ivis Sanchez-Cordova, 34, were traveling with Edith Magana, 56, when 33-year-old Marvin Balcaseres’s sedan struck their Nissan SUV on the Southern State Parkway. The collision occurred around 5:10 AM, resulting in a fiery crash that scattered debris across the roadway.

Balcaseres drove the wrong way for less than a minute before the impact. Witnesses reported seeing the sedan speeding down the highway, and it was clear that he would not be able to stop in time. Tragically, Mr. Sanchez-Flores and his daughter died at the scene, while Magana also perished in the crash. Another daughter of Mr. Sanchez-Flores, Nadia Sanchez-Cordova, 44, sustained critical injuries. Friends expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the family as beloved members of their community from Honduras. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
