A small plane crashed into a residential neighborhood in Fairview, Oregon, on Saturday morning, resulting in three fatalities and significant property damage. The incident occurred around 10:20 a.m. when a twin-engine Cessna 421C, which had taken off from Troutdale Airport, reported controllability issues shortly after departure. The aircraft struck a row of townhouses, igniting fires in multiple units and displacing at least five families. Gresham Fire Chief Scott Lewis confirmed that the pilot and a passenger aboard the plane were killed, along with a resident from one of the impacted homes. The crash also knocked down power lines, causing a brush fire in a nearby field.

Local authorities responded quickly, evacuating residents and battling the flames. As many as 9,000 customers experienced power outages due to the downed lines. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are conducting investigations to determine the cause of the crash, which could take up to 18 months to complete.
