Ward recalled Amani’s ability to inspire patience, trust, and optimism, and celebrated her resilience after she faced significant health challenges. Born prematurely and diagnosed with a cardiac abnormality and Down syndrome, Amani underwent heart surgery before reaching six months old. Ward had previously shared his deep love for his daughter, reflecting on how being her father taught him the true meaning of patience and gratitude.
