
Pop star Justin Timberlake pleaded not guilty to driving while intoxicated during a virtual court appearance on August 2, 2024. The incident occurred on June 18 when Timberlake was pulled over in Sag Harbor, New York, after allegedly running a stop sign and struggling to stay in his lane. Police reported that the singer exhibited signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol.Timberlake’s attorney, Edward Burke, maintained that the singer had only consumed one martini prior to the incident. Following the plea, Judge Carl Irace suspended Timberlake’s driver’s license in New York for the duration of the case.

As part of a plea deal reached later, Timberlake agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of driving while ability impaired (DWAI), resulting in a $500 fine and 25 hours of community service. During his court appearance, Timberlake emphasized the importance of not driving after consuming alcohol, hoping to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving. His next court date is set for August 9.
