U.S. Senator John Fetterman and his wife, Gisele, were involved in a two-vehicle accident on June 9, 2024, in Hancock, Maryland. The incident occurred around 7:45 a.m. when Fetterman was driving a Chevrolet Traverse on Interstate 70 and rear-ended a Chevrolet Impala. Witnesses reported that Fetterman was traveling at a high rate of speed before the collision.Both Fetterman and Gisele were evaluated at a local hospital for minor injuries, with Fetterman suffering from a bruised shoulder. The driver of the Impala and a passenger in Fetterman’s vehicle were also taken to War Memorial Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
Fetterman’s office confirmed the accident and stated that they were grateful for the well-wishes received. He later expressed disappointment that the crash occurred on their 16th wedding anniversary but reassured followers that they were doing well. The Maryland State Police are continuing to investigate the incident, but no citations have been issued at this time.
