
Authorities have reported no evidence linking a deadly car crash outside a New Yearâs concert in Rochester, New York, to domestic terrorism. The incident, which occurred on January 1, resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to nine others. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Michael Avery from Syracuse, also died in the crash.Rochester Police Chief David M. Smith stated that the investigation revealed no indications that Avery acted out of âpolitical or social biases.â The crash involved two vehicles, one of which was loaded with gas canisters, that collided before careening into the crowd gathered outside the Kodak Center for the concert.

FBI agent Jeremy Bell confirmed at a news conference that there was no evidence of an ideology or connection to terrorism, whether international or domestic. However, law enforcement sources indicated that domestic terrorism remains a potential motive under investigation as authorities continue to gather information regarding the incident.
