A Russian man named Yevgeny Serebryakov has reportedly confessed to his involvement in a car bombing in Moscow, claiming that the operation was ordered by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU). The bombing occurred on July 24, 2024, targeting a vehicle that belonged to a senior military officer, injuring two individuals. Following the incident, Serebryakov fled to Turkey but was apprehended by Turkish authorities in Bodrum.During his initial interrogation after being extradited to Russia, Serebryakov admitted to having contacted Ukrainian intelligence for cooperation. The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) shared a video of his confession, which has raised significant concerns about potential Ukrainian involvement in attacks within Russia. The car bombing is part of a broader pattern of violence targeting military officials and pro-Kremlin figures since the onset of the Ukraine conflict. Russian authorities are now investigating the extent of Serebryakov’s claims and any connections to Ukrainian operatives involved in the attack.
