Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson recently marked 35 years of marriage on April 30. To commemorate the milestone, Wilson shared a heartwarming photo of Hanks presenting her with a cake, captioned, “35 years of marriage. April 30, 1988. Love is everything.”
The couple met in 1981 on the set of Bosom Buddies. Although Hanks was married at the time, their connection blossomed into friendship and later into love. After dating for two years, they tied the knot in 1988 and have since welcomed two sons, Chet and Truman.
Reflecting on their enduring bond, Hanks once said there’s no secret to their long-lasting relationship: “We just like each other. Every now and again, you gotta get over some stuff, but life is more pleasant with someone you love to spend time with.”
