During a heartfelt wedding ceremony, Senior Airman Emily Leehan surprised her four-year-old stepson, Gage Newville, with vows specially written for him. Standing beside his father as the couple exchanged their vows, Gage was unaware of the emotional moment that awaited him.
As Leehan began her vows, speaking directly to Gage, her words struck a chord with the young boy. She said, “I want you to be safe, and to try your hardest and to be a good person.” Overcome with emotion, Gage immediately burst into tears and embraced her tightly, moved by the heartfelt gesture.
Leehan continued, telling him, “You are a special boy… you have helped shape me into the woman that I am today, and I may not have given you the gift of life, but life surely gave me the gift of you.” The audience couldn’t help but be moved by the powerful moment, and both Leehan and Gage’s father were brought to tears as well.
