I’m a journalist writing these super cute stories about rural life>>>>>>>>

I’ve lied so much that I lost touch with reality. I kept going on about my “perfect” country life until my boss said he wanted to visit me for the holidays!!! The truth would cost me my job. So I panicked, found the nearest village, and rented a little cottage. The owner was this cranky old lady — she clearly thought I wouldn’t last a day there. She rented me the place but made me promise to leave it EXACTLY as I’d found it. Sure, I agreed — I had to keep my job. A few hours in, and there I was — covered in soot, the kitchen trashed, and running around the yard trying to catch chickens! But that wasn’t even the worst part. My boss and his wife didn’t show up alone. Oh no. They brought along the LAST people I ever wanted to see!
