Suzanne Somers, beloved for her roles in Three’s Company and Step by Step, has passed away at 76, just one day before her 77th birthday. Her publicist confirmed that she died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, after battling breast cancer for over 23 years.
Somers’ enduring career included her iconic portrayal of Chrissy Snow and her entrepreneurial success with ventures like the ThighMaster. She authored over 25 books and built a lasting legacy in health and wellness.
Her family planned to gather for her birthday but will instead honor her extraordinary life. Somers is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Alan Hamel, her son Bruce, stepchildren Stephen and Leslie, and six grandchildren.
Known for her resilience and gratitude, Suzanne shared earlier this year, “It’s only about who you love and who loves you.” Her indomitable spirit, warmth, and laughter will be deeply missed by fans and loved ones alike.
